Oswald is a collaborative furniture design project exploring the balance between sculptural form, functionality, and efficient fabrication. Designed for CNC milling, the flat-pack plywood table features a flower-inspired silhouette and an interlocking assembly system that requires no additional hardware.
My primary contributions included prototyping, 3D modeling, and preparing technical files for CNC fabrication.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
Initial sketches explored organic shapes, proportions, and interlocking construction methods. The concept evolved into a flower-shaped tabletop supported by a modular plywood base.
3D MODELING & FABRICATION
Using Rhino 3D, I developed the tabletop and leg components with precision-cut joints and dog-bone fillets to accommodate CNC milling. The design was fabricated from plywood, using an interlocking structure that allows the table to be assembled without additional hardware.
FINAL PRODUCT & PACKAGING
The completed design combines a sculptural tabletop with a hardware-free, flat-pack construction. The accompanying packaging, developed by my collaborator, presents the components as a compact, ready-to-assemble product.
